Texas Tube Guitar Amp Inventory
Mike Yankie has been a friend and customer of ours for years.
Recently he began bringing in prototypes of his amps for us to
listen to and evaluate, and we're happy to say that he's hit on
a great sound with his final release, the MM-5. We have many fine brands of hand-made amps here at Guitar Rez, and the Texas Tube amp has found a unique tonal niche amongst them! Although the MM-5 is only rated at 5 Watts the amp makes a surprisingly big sound. The clean tone is a very pleasant "small amp" tone, and when you crank it up the distortion is more dense and singy than many. The amp also has a great touch sensitivity and expressiveness that makes you feel right at home instantly! Although
Mike voiced the amp with Telecasters, we found the MM-5 to be
one of the few low powered class A amps that can do a Les Paul the justice it deserves!
